Very important news from Google!

If your company website is not mobile friendly, as of April 21, 2015 your website is at risk of not showing up on Google’s mobile search results.

First of all, what is a mobile friendly website? It is a website that is automatically adjusted for your mobile device. It will not leave you zooming in to read text, or scrolling side to side. Text is easy to read, and links are easily clickable – no matter how large your fingers are! A mobile friendly website lays out all the content in a way that is easiest for a mobile user.

If your website is not mobile friendly, that’s what you could be missing out on. With Mobile device usage climbing, less people are using desktops to search the web and are turning to their cellphones or tablets more frequently.

With that being said, people searching Google on their mobile device are on the go, they are not willing to sift through pages of Google results. Appearing on the first page, or within the first few results is important! For years now, mobile usability has been a factor in Google’s search algorithm. Sites that are optimized for mobile devices rank higher than their non-optimized counterparts. By not optimizing your website for mobile usage, you could be heavily penalized in Google’s mobile results or worse, you may not even show up.
