Hit a Roadblock?

Sometimes inspiration is hard to find. Sometimes inspiration is really hard to find. At times the world moves so fast it can be easy to forget to slow down, relax, and just stop for a moment.

We’ve all been there, your GREAT idea hits a wall, you’ve run out of gas and your brain just stops working…. a solution for your project is nowhere to be found. New ideas aren’t always easy to find, but maybe we can help!

1. Fully understand the problem.

You may be hitting your wall because you don’t truly understand what you have been tasked to solve. “Why doesn’t this logo work for the brand?” “Why isn’t the target audience responding to this?”

Research. Research. Research. Find out more about the topic, understanding the problem is key to finding the solution!

2. Ask For Help.
Everyone’s brains work differently, so sometimes picking someone else’s head for ideas can be the best cure for any lack of inspiration and ideas.

For me, being surrounded by other creative minds is the best place to work, being able to bounce ideas off each other while brainstorming helps me plough right through that wall.

3. Take a Break.
Pausing to take a minute away from your project to clear your mind can be a great way to find inspiration. Stop thinking about your frustration and issues with your roadblock.

Go for a walk, drink a beer, take a bath! Daydream and just let your mind wander. Eliminate all thoughts of the project from your brain and be open to inspiration. It may come to you in the strangest ways!

“Insight may seem to come from nowhere, but really, it comes from somewhere quite specific: from the attic and the processing that has been taking place while you’ve been busy doing other things.”

- Maria Konnikova
