You have a brand new website, congratulations! It is beautiful, clean, organized - it perfectly represents your company. What's next?

Content.

Writing for the web can be challenging, and even a bit overwhelming. Here are a few simple tips to help you along the way:

1) Put your most important information first.

This is the opposite of most professional writing. Web visitors want to find the most relevant information, first. If they find what they are looking for easily, they will be more inclined to keep reading for the details.

2) Proofread your work.

Typos and spelling errors make your company look unprofessional. Before you post anything, make sure you check your work. Its even better if someone else can read it over - fresh eyes can catch errors that you’ve missed!

3) Cut the fluff.

Resist the temptation to “fluff up” your content. Your readers will see through it. Provide value in every page, give them a reason to choose you over your competition.

Content is often undervalued when it comes to web marketing, but having well-written content is the one of the most important parts of building a strong, and valuable website.
